Sarah Hoy Named Chief Nursing Officer at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center

Coffeyville Regional Medical Centers Chief Executive Officer, Lori Rexwinkle, announce today that Sarah Hoy, BSN, CPPS, accepted the position of Chief Nursing Officer at CRMC. “We are extremely happy that Sarah has taken on this role. She has been an integral part of this facility for years. Her background and passion for nursing will enable her to inspire and lead our great team of nurses.”

Sarah is grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity, saying “My desire to serve as CNO for CRMC comes from my passion of building strong relationships within our team, our patient population and within the community. My top priority will be to ensure that CRMC continues to provide the highest quality care through safe, competent and compassionate nursing. It is my goal to continue this strong legacy at CRMC.”

Hoy began her career at CRMC in 2002 as a staff nurse in the emergency room and ICU. She later became a full time OR nurse. In 2011, she accepted the position of Director of Quality Improvement. In 2016, Hoy was promoted to Senior Director of Quality Services and Process Improvement, where she expanded her role to include Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Infection Control, Medical Staff Credentialing, Utilization Review, Care Coordination, Compliance, The Joint Commission Survey Readiness, and Patient Safety Programs throughout the health system. In this role, she led CRMC to achieve state and national recognition for quality improvement and patient safety initiates. “Quality patient care is now and has always been the top priority at CRMC. As CNO, I want to empower our nursing leaders and nursing staff to make decisions that are patient centered.  Feeling confident in this quickly changing healthcare model requires working knowledge of how healthcare in America is moving.  It will be a priority for me to make sure that our nursing team is equipped for these transitions”, said Hoy.

Sarah Hoy has been at CRMC for 16 years. She received her BS in nursing from Pittsburg State University. In addition, Hoy is a Certified Professional in Professional Safety (CPPS). Hoy is a Member of the Kansas Association of Risk and Quality Managers and sits on the KARQM Board of Directors.  She is also a member of the Kansas Organization of Nurse Leaders.
