Amy Taylor is the Director of Foundation and Guest Relations.
Amy has 30 years of experience in marketing and advertising, which includes 25 years as the owner of Grass Roots Design Group in Independence. The company, founded by Taylor, served more than 1400 individuals and businesses across southeast Kansas and beyond. A native of Chase County, Kansas, Amy has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Kansas. She got her start in marketing and advertising at The Miami County Republic in Paola, Kan., and later at The Montgomery County Chronicle with offices in Independence, Cherryvale, and Caney.
She has served in multiple organizations in Montgomery County, including the USD 446 Foundation Board of Directors, the Independence High School Band Boosters, Chapter FP PEO, Valley Victors 4-H Club as a community leader, Independence Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors.
Amy and her husband, Andy, reside in Independence. They are the parents of a daughter, Lillie, who will be a sophomore at the University of Central Oklahoma. In her free time, Amy enjoys gardening, sewing and traveling to watch Lillie’s musical theatre performances.
