Physical therapy is a treatment that focuses on restoring an individual’s activity, strength and mobility following an injury or surgery. Our therapy staff can also help manage pain, whether that pain is caused by poor posture, injury or disease. Physical therapy offers land-based therapy as well as aquatic therapy.
Individuals may require physical therapy for a variety of reasons:
- Sports injuries
- Orthopedic injuries/surgeries
- Joint replacement
- Muscle or joint pain
- Muscle weakness
- Back pain
- Gait/balance training/frequent falls
- Stroke
- Parkinson’s
- Cerebral palsy
- Brain injuries
- Muscular dystrophy
- Cervical Pain
- Post Op Shoulder Surgeries
- Wrist/Hand/Elbow Pain
- Temporomandibular joint pain (jaw pain)
Physical therapy evaluates a patient and determines the most effective treatment to attain maximum results. Once the physical therapist has identified the problem, he or she will create a treatment plan. With proper and consistent treatment, physical therapy can help relieve pain and reduce recurring problems.
