Build for the future

It is with great pleasure that I talk to you today about the CRMC Foundation’s Build for the Future capital campaign. This project has been years in the making and is an important first step to achieving our long-term commitment of serving every generation with patient-centered, compassionate care far into the future.

The Build for the Future campaign specifically focuses on the construction of a new Primary Care Medical Office building that will be located on 4th Street, directly south of our main hospital. This new facility will allow us to relocate our current primary care clinic from the oldest building on our campus. The current facility presents many patient and staff challenges, including ease of access for those with disabilities, facility age and structure issues, as well as inefficient patient flow currently in an area that was never intended for patient care.

Our hope is that as you read through this literature, you too, will be inspired to join our mission of securing the future of healthcare for our communities. A new medical office facility will allow us not only to improve the patient experience, but also give us the expanded room to recruit and retain additional physicians.

We would be honored to have your support for the Build for the Future capital campaign. There are many ways to support our efforts and any amount you can donate is welcome. The time to support the future of healthcare is now. Won’t you join us?

Thank you

Brian Lawrence
President & Chief Executive Officer of CRMC

Access

■ Accessibility is the primary challenge at the current Primary Care Clinic location
■ Located inside the hospital, patients currently walk as far as 250 yards from handicapped parking to reach the clinic patient rooms
■ Navigating into the clinic is a challenge for elderly patients and those with disabilities

Aging Building

■ The Clinic is located in the oldest building on the hospital campus
■ Built in 1949, this wing of the hospital was not intended for clinic use
■ The current layout is ill-suited for modern clinic patient care
■ The age and structure of the building prevent major modifications to the layout
■ Maintenance crews struggle to keep up with expensive repairs that are a daily occurrence

■ Single story construction with no steps will provide easy access for patients
■ Ample parking close to the clinic
■ Covered entry and drive-up drop-off for easy, convenient patient access
■ Parking spaces to accommodate 90 vehicles (regular and handicapped)
■ Accessible from 4th Street (North), Buckeye Street (East), and Lee Street (West)
■ The main entrance will be on the west side, with additional doors on the north, south and east sides
■ Funds would be wisely invested in new construction rather than continuing on an obsolete building with crumbling infrastructure on an obsolete building

Our thriving Primary Care Clinic contributes in many ways to the overall patient experience at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Clinic visits often result in referrals to CRMC’s specialists, surgeons, laboratory, and radiology department. The CRMC Primary Care Clinic is blessed with three full-time physicians and four advanced practitioners. They are dedicated to providing quality, compassionate care to an ever-growing number of patients.

■ In 2022, patients made 25,623 visits to the CRMC Primary Care Clinic
■ Visits in 2023 are projected to exceed 28,000
■ We will maintain our focus on Women’s Health as many women seek care at CRMC while OB/GYN departments in the surrounding areas are closing
services
■ A new, larger building with dedicated spaces for each department will accommodate and encourage future expected growth.
■ CRMC patients, staff and providers desire modern, safe medical facilities
■ A new, efficient Primary Care Clinic is critical to recruiting and retaining physicians and other medical professionals

We must supply our providers with all the tools they need to serve patients and support the hospital.
This includes a new Primary Care Clinic.
