Laboratory

The laboratory department plays an important role in a patient’s healthcare quality, with respect to diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease. CRMC’s laboratory is centrally located to serve both inpatients and outpatients. The easily accessible waiting area and separate phlebotomy area help the lab staff give outpatients more privacy during their lab healthcare encounter. Because of extensive testing menu of CRMC lab, there are many lab sub-departments.

  • Phlebotomy
  • Hematology
  • Chemistry
  • Blood banking
  • Microbiology
  • Histology
  • Urinalysis
  • Coagulation
  • Serology
  • Blood Gases
  • Point-of-Care

Registered Lab Techs

Registered lab techs use sophisticated, automated equipment and instruments that perform a number of tests simultaneously, as well as microscopes and cell counters to perform more “manual” testing, to safely perform quality, complex testing to analyze body fluids, tissues and cells. The results are analyzed, evaluated and relayed to physicians to help deliver quality patient care.

CRMC Lab

The CRMC lab is available for inpatient testing 24 hours a day, seven days a week while the majority of outpatient testing is done on a more regular business hour schedule. The CRMC lab goes beyond the necessary regulations, to assure the highest quality of laboratory testing possible, as evidenced by the years of continually successful biannual Joint Commission Lab Surveys. Updates by manufacturers and reagent vendors, along with continued acquisition of state-of-the-art instrumentation for testing on a rotational basis through the various sub-departments also helps assure quality testing for quality patient care.

CRMC phlebotomists, lab techs and pathologists are proud of the diversity, hard work, attention-to- detail and commitment their jobs require to ensure accuracy and aid physicians in making diagnoses.
