Coffeyville Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Rachel “Alix” Oreck, MD, Internal Medicine physicians, to our medical staff and in-patient hospitalist program.
Dr. Rachel “Alix” Oreck wanted to make a difference in the world, so she initially began work in the human rights field. She graduated from Vassar College in New York in 2005 with a B.A. in Political Science, but quickly decided that medicine was the best way to actually help people.
Dr. Oreck attended Tulane University School of Medicine and after graduation was accepted into the Tulane University Internal Medicine Residency Program. In 2015, Dr. Oreck received the Vitals Patient Choice Award. This award recognizes top performing doctors based on reviews and ratings collected during the previous calendar year.
“I love the puzzles, intricacies, and relationships that being an internist allows,” explained Dr. Oreck when asked what it was that she liked about internal medicine. “I find it rewarding to help people understand and have agency over their own health.”
After leaving her most recent position as an associate professor of medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Oreck was pleased to practice in Coffeyville. “I loved what CRMC had to show me during my visit,” said Oreck. “I also have an aunt, uncle and grandparents that live in the surrounding community.”
Dr. Oreck and her fiancé Nick, (plus their two dogs and two cats) are excited to call the Coffeyville area “home.”
