On Friday, September 30th, Coffeyville Regional Medical Center inducted Dr. Chan S. Han and Dr. Allen Gillis to the CRMC Hall of Fame. CRMC introduced the Hall of Fame to celebrate CRMC medical professionals who have made significant contributions and a lifetime of accomplishments in advancing healthcare in our region.
“We are extremely grateful and fortunate that these individuals made the decision many years ago to make Coffeyville their home,” said President and CEO Brian Lawrence.
This award recognizes the people who have made an outstanding, long-lasting contribution to healthcare in our community. CRMC Hall of Famers include healthcare professionals, doctors, nurses, administrators, board members, and advocates who have had an impact on our community. Hall of Fame bronze plaques line both walls in the hallway leading to the surgery department at CRMC.
“Associates, physicians, volunteers, patients, and visitors are often seen taking a moment to stop in the hallway and read the names of those Hall of Famers who have been honored,” said Lawrence. “These leaders have had an amazing, lasting impact on our communities and our hospital. We could not have selected two more deserving of this honor to add than Dr. Han and Dr. Gillis.”
Dr. Chan S. Han arrived in Coffeyville in 1974 and served as our community Pediatrician until 2014. He cared for our community children and often kept patients who refused to leave his care well into adulthood. Dr. Han was recognized at the ceremony by Hall of Famer Judy Hiner and with a letter written by Dr. Baba Abudu regarding Dr. Han’s commitment to our community.
Dr. Gillis arrived in Coffeyville in 1977 and served our community until 2020. He cared for patients of all ages and served our community and the hospital in a variety of roles. Dr. Gillis was recognized by Dr. James Christiansen at the ceremony who also read a nomination by Cari Redden.
CRMC is proud to recognize these providers who had a tremendous impact on our community.
